We started our session by using our story maps to refresh our memories about Rātā and the Totara Tree. We then worked with our thinking buddies to break the story into key events, stepping through the story and creating actions for each key event.
Zara and Ashley stepped through the story in front of the class. Ms Y. told the story to help them stay on track while they performed their actions.
We then had five-minutes to record the key events and the mood for each event. (This was a time-limited challenge, not a handwriting exercise.)
