In year-8 social sciences, our focus this term is geography. We are learning to identify and locate countries of the world. This is an excellent challenge for us to develop our memories.
Mnemonics
Rhythmic chants are an excellent way to remember information. Mackenzie and Lilly created this mnemonic to remember towns and cities down the east coast of the South Island.
"We're going on a bus trip,
starting at Christchurch,
on the way to Timaru,
we're gonna take a pit stop,
going to the dungeon in Dunedin,
soon to reach our inn at Invercargill."
